Our clientele range from small closely held businesses to very large partnerships and corporations, with both domestic and international ownership. We provide tax, audit, accounting, and consulting services to many professional services firms, as well as companies in other industries, such as agriculture, manufacturing, wholesale distributorships, and retail. Our management advisory service includes accounting system review, internal control evaluation, financial valuation, personnel assistance, and business reorganizations.

The overall objective of our firm is to provide the finest tax, accounting, and consulting services in the accounting industry. We are deeply committed to further developing and maintaining a quality practice, and believe our new clients benefit from a professional relationship with us. We believe the elements essential to achieving this objective are:

One of the cornerstones to the success of our Firm has been the philosophy that partners are directly involved in the services we provide to our clients. This assures our clients that we understand their needs and problems, and that partners are available for consultation when requested.

Communicating constructive ideas to our clients so that they can make better use of accounting as a tool to control current operations and improve future operations, rather than simply as a measure of past performance.

Intelligent, aggressive, well-trained, and enthusiastic people.

An internally well-organized and efficient office.

Clear communication of objectives, policies, and practices within our own organization.

The practice of sound, business-like engagement management.

Aggressive use of advanced techniques in our various fields of professional service.

Well-designed and consistently applied quality control procedures.

A total dedication to client service. We strive to be responsive in a timely way to all the needs of our clients, and we instill in our people a strong desire to help our clients achieve success.

We believe our commitment to high-quality service, together with our broad range of experience and our professional capabilities and resources, can be of significant value to you.

Stoughton Davidson holds memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA), and the Private Companies Practice Section (PCPS) of the AICPA. Peer Review

As members of the PCPS, we have agreed to subject our auditing policies and procedures to an independent peer review. A peer review is required every three years. Our most recent review was conducted in 2004, the result of which was an unqualified opinion with no letter of comments. This is the best result that can be achieved.

State CPA Society Participation

Partner Tom McFerson is a former six year appointed member of the State Board of Accountancy's Qualifications Committee which makes recommendations on all applications for California CPA licenses. Audit Partner Tracy Garone now serves on this Committee. Scott Dye is currently the Treasurer of the California State Business Valuation Committee.

Publications

We distribute quarterly a Client Service Letter, which reviews current financial subjects. We also issue publications on tax and accounting matters quarterly, as well as periodically.
